Man arrested for manufacturing marijuana and desecration of US flag

On Tuesday, April 20, 2010, Robert Russell Brewer, age 38, of Yellville, was arrested for: Manufacturing a controlled substance (Marijuana), a Class C Felony; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Class C Felony; and Desecration of the United States Flag, which is an unclassified misdemeanor. Brewer's bond was set at $5000.00, cash or pro.

The arrest stems from when a deputy attempted to conduct a follow up interview with Brewer at his residence in Yellville. The officer observed what he believed to be numerous suspected marijuana plants growing around the residence. Officers then secured the scene and obtained a search warrant.

On April 17, 2010 officers from the Marion County Sheriff's Department executed a search warrant on the residence finding approximately 106 suspected marijuana plants, multiple items of drug paraphernalia, and a desecrated United States flag left lying in a flower bed. Brewer posted bond and is currently awaiting his first court appearance before the Marion County Circuit Court.
