On Tuesday, May 11, 2010, the Flippin Police Department and the Marion County Sheriff's Department conducted a joint investigation, that led to the arrest of David Southerland, age 45, of Mountain Home, for Possession of a Controlled Substance (methamphetamine); Delivery of a Controlled Substance (methamphetamine); Felony Fleeing in a vehicle; and Reckless Driving. Southerland's bond was set at $100,000.00. Randy Wilson, age 44, of Gainesville, Missouri, and Brittany Slaton, age 24, of Summit, was also arrested in connection with the incident. Wilson was charged with Delivery of a Controlled Substance (methamphetamine); Possession of a Controlled Substance (methamphetamine) with intent to Deliver; and Possession of Controlled Substance (marijuana). Wilson's bond was set at $75,000.00. Slaton was charged with Delivery of a Controlled Substance (methamphetamine) and Possession of a Controlled Substance (methamphetamine), with intent to deliver. Slaton's bond was set at $50,000.00. At the time of the arrest, the three fled from officer's in a vehicle, which led to a pursuit, ending in Baxter County. Southerland, Wilson, and Slaton also face charges in Baxter County and are currently being held in the Marion County Jail, awaiting their first appearance before the Marion County Circuit Court. Assisting in the investigation was the Arkansas State Police, the Baxter County Sheriff's Department, and the Cotter Police Department.
