An investigation conducted by the Marion County Sheriff's Department, the Arkansas State Police, and the National Park Service resulted in the arrest of three subjects in Marion County and the seizure of approximately 348 marijuana plants, in southern Marion County. Investigators discovered the patch and on July 22, 2010, executed a search warrant. Tommy Lane, age 30, of Harrison, was discovered hiding in the marijuana patch. At the time of Lane's arrest he had already harvested numerous plants and had marijuana in his possession. Other subjects arrested that had already left the area are Dennis Rochester, age 48, and Deanne Rochester, age 40, both of Bellefonte, Arkansas. Tommy Lane was charged with Possession of Marijuana, a class C felony, and Manufacturing of Marijuana, a class C felony. Lane's bond was set at $25,000.00. Tommy Lane is currently being held in the Marion County Jail awaiting his first court appearance before the Marion County Circuit Court. The Rochester's were both charged with Manufacturing of Marijuana, a Class C Felony, in which they posted a $25,000.00 through a local bonding company and are currently awaiting their first court date in Marion County Circuit Court. |
