Two Inmates Escape from Marion County Jail

On Tuesday, August 3, 2010, at approximately 3:00 PM, two inmates escaped from the Marion County Jail, by scaling over the fenced in exercise yard. The inmates are identified as Bradley Thomas, 32 years old, of Springfield, MO and Tommy Lane, 30 years old, of Harrison, AR.

Bradley Thomas is described as a white male, approximately 5 feet 7 inches in height, weighing about 180 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. Bradley Thomas was currently being held in the Marion County jail for fleeing in a vehicle from the Arkansas State Police, in which he allegedly stolen from Springfield, MO. Bradley is also wanted by the Springfield Police Department as well as the Missouri Department of Corrections, for violating the terms and conditions of his probation / parole.

Tommy Lane is described as a white male, approximately 5 feet 10 inches in height, and weighing about 160 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. Lane was currently incarcerated in the Marion County Jail for multiple felony drug charges and violating the terms and conditions of his probation / parole.

The two are possibly driving a 1993 Buick Park Avenue, 4 door car, white in color, with a blue top, bearing an Arkansas license plate of 523-KBX. The vehicle possibly has a broken headlight on the passenger side. The vehicle was reported stolen not far from the Sheriff's Department shortly after the escape.

The escape was captured on video surveillance and it is believed the car was captured on video surveillance driving through Yellville at approximately 3:09 PM, traveling Eastbound. Both were last seen wearing black and white striped jail uniforms and were believed to be barefoot. During the search both inmates' jail issued flip flops were discovered still inside the fenced area and one jail uniform was discovered in a wooded area.

Marion County dispatch issued a "Be On the Look Out" (BOLO), immediately after the escape and both subjects have been entered as "escapees" in the Arkansas Crime Information Center and National Crime Information Center. The matter is still under investigation.

Assisting in the search was the Arkansas State Police, Boone County Sheriff's Department, Arkansas Game and Fish, the Highway Patrol, Flippin Police Department, Bull Shoals Police Department, Cotter Police Department, Baxter County Sheriff's Department and the K-9 unit from the North Central Arkansas Unit of the Department of Corrections at Calico Rock. Anyone who sees the inmates is advised to call the Marion County Sheriff's Department at 449-4236 or their nearest law enforcement agency.
