Online predator arrested in Marion County

On September 14, 2010, Samuel Chase, age 25, of Harrison, Arkansas was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance (marijuana), a Class A Misdemeanor; Computer Child Pornography, a Class B Felony; and Internet Stalking of a Child, a Class A Felony - bond $50,000.00.

The arrest stems from nearly a month long investigation in which Chase had been engaging in online chats that was sexually explicit with who he thought was a 14 year old female. Chase had actually been chatting to an undercover investigator with the Marion County Sheriff's Department. A meeting was arranged and Chase drove to Yellville, Arkansas to meet with who he thought was going to be the 14 year old girl. Upon his arrest, suspected marijuana and condoms were found in the possession of Chase.

Samuel Chase was charged with "internet stalking of a child", by being a person twenty-one (21) years of age or older and knowingly using a computer online service, internet service, or local internet bulletin board to: seduce, solicit, lure or entice a child fifteen (15) years of age or younger in an effort to arrange a meeting with the child for the purpose of engaging in sexual intercourse, sexually explicit conduct, or deviate sexual activity.

Chase was also charged with "computer child pornography", by utilizing a computer online service, internet service, or local bulletin board service to seduce, solicit, lure, or entice or attempt to seduce, solicit, lure or entice a child or another individual believed by the person to be a child, to engage in sexually explicit conduct.

Chase is currently being held in the Marion County Jail on a $50,000.00 bond awaiting his first appearance before the Marion County Circuit Court.
