Stacey Sexton
On Wednesday, December 21, 2011, Stacey Sexton, age 50, of rural Marion County, was arrested on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges, including Battery against a police officer. A Marion County Deputy responded to the rural area of Silver Leaf Lane of a report that Sexton was the driver in a hit and run accident that had just occurred near her residence. While assessing property damage, the deputy observed Sexton, whom lives next to where the accident took place, outside her residence screaming and firing a gun.
Upon making contact with Sexton, she appeared extremely intoxicated. Sexton’s vehicle had damage to it and was missing parts that had been discovered at the scene. Sexton admitted to driving and hitting a fence but stated she didn’t think she had caused any problems. At that time, Sexton attempted to flee on foot from the deputy. Once apprehended, Sexton began to fight with the deputy and bit him, which required medical attention. Once secured, Sexton began taking her clothes off and asked the deputy to shoot her. While transporting Sexton to the Marion County Jail, she kicked out the rear passenger window of the squad car.
Sexton was charged with DWI, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, No Insurance, Battery 2nd on a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, and Criminal Mischief. Sexton’s bond was set at $5,000.00 and she is currently awaiting her first appearance before the Marion County Circuit Court.
