On Friday, November 2nd, 2012, the Marion County Sheriff’s Department went to serve arrest warrants in the rural Peel area, on Christina Beatty, age 39, of Peel, and Tyler Dixon, age 26, of Flippin. Beatty and Dixon were also wanted for questioning, regarding the break-in and thefts, at and Arkansas Highway Department shop (Peel Ferry).
Upon arrival, Beatty and Dixon fled into the woods on foot, considered armed and dangerous. Members of the Arkansas Department of Corrections K9 Unit (North Central Unit CHASE TEAM) then responded to assist the in the tracking of Beatty and Dixon.
As the CHASE TEAM located and approached Beatty and Dixon, Dixon shot himself in the head. Dixon was air-lifted to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, where he later died of a self-inflicted gun-shot wound.
Both Beatty and Dixon were armed with pistols and had various amounts of methamphetamine in their possession. At the residence, where they had been staying, and fled from, officers discovered a meth lab and stolen property from various burglaries.
Beatty was charged with numerous felonies including: Manufacturing Meth, Possession of Meth, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Felon in possession of a firearm, Simultaneous Possession of drugs and firearms, Commercial Burglary, and theft of property; bond $50,000.00. Beatty also had warrants for Failing to appear in court and failing to comply with her probation, No Bond.
Also arrested in connection with Beatty was Joseph Kensinger, age 33, of Yellville. Kensinger was arrested for Manufacturing Meth, Possession of Meth, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Commercial Burglary, and theft of property; bond $25,000.00. Kensinger had turned himself in without incident, earlier on the same date.
Assisting the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, was the ADC K9 Unit, Arkansas State Police, 14th Judicial Drug Task Force, and Lead Hill – Diamond City Police Department. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected to be filed and additional arrests are expected to be made.
