Flippin man arrested for filing a false police report

Sammy Miller

On Thursday, May 16, 2013, Sammy Miller, age 63, of the Flippin area, was arrested on a Marion County Felony Warrant for Filing a False Police Report. After officers executed a search warrant at Miller’s residence on March 21, 2013, Miller filed a report with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office that someone had broken in to his home. Miller was then advised a search warrant had been executed and officers had recovered stolen property along with firearms that Miller is not allowed to have due to being a convicted felon.  Miller then turned himself in but went on to report that someone had stolen some jewelry that he valued at $20,000.00. On April 12, 2013, Miller returned to the Sheriff’s Office for a follow up. While there, Miller was wearing the exact jewelry he reported had been stolen. Miller’s bond was set at $5,000.00 in which he posted. Miller is expected to make his first appearance before the Marion County Circuit Court on May 29, 2013, at 10:00 AM.
