Sheriff Joan Vickers reports that on August 7, 2015 Marion County was conducting marijuana eradication. Spotters flying in helicopters saw numerous plots of marijuana in northern Marion County. These plots were located at two different residences. Officers secured both residences and obtained search warrants for both. There was no one present at either residence. During the search, officers located approximately 1746 marijuana plants growing near both residences. Officers located numerous weapons along with several pounds of processed marijuana. Sheriff Vickers states that she anticipates arrest warrants to be issued within the next few days.

Assisting in the eradication of marijuana were officers from Marion County, Drug Taskforce, Arkansas Game & Fish, Flippin Police Department, Arkansas State Police and the Arkansas National Guard.
