PRESS RELEASE
On November 18, 2017 Robert James Cobb, age 52, of Yellville and Anthony Carlos Contreras, age 41, of Summit were arrested by the Marion County Sheriff’s Department for the charges of Residential Burglary, which is a Class B Felony, Breaking or Entering x3, a Class D Felony, Criminal Mischief 1st degree, a Class D Felony, Theft of a Firearm, a Class D Felony, and Theft of Property, a Class D Felony.
At approximately 3:20 p.m., Marion County Deputies responded to a residence that had been burglarized. Their patrol cars were parked approximately 100 yards south of the residence due to the north entrance gate being locked. Unaware that the scene was being processed by deputies, Cobb and Contreras were dropped off at the north entrance of the property. The two were carefully walking up to the house as Cobb went to the front and Contreras went to the back. It was at this time when both were confronted by Deputies. Cobb had property belonging to the homeowner in his hands when confronted by the deputy. Contreras was charged for Possession of a Controlled Substance, which is a Class A Misdemeanor on top of the charges listed above.
At the time of this release, Cobb and Contreras are being held on a $25,000 bond each at the Marion County Jail Facility and are awaiting their first court appearance.
