Ruben Newton, age 29 of Summit, Arkansas was arrested and booked into the Marion County jail January 1, 2018. His arrest stems from an incident that occurred in October 2017, in which two other individuals were previously arrested.
On October 26, 2017 the Marion County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a local business owner reporting the theft of scrap metal from the property. Through the utilization of video surveillance on scene, it was determined the same vehicle and individuals had stolen scrap metal on the nights of October 25th and 26th. All three individuals were identified via video.
Two individuals, Leeann Kenniston and David Beard were arrested without incident. They were charged with Theft of Scrap Metal and Criminal Trespass. Both Kenniston and Beard were booked at the Marion County jail and are currently out on bond awaiting trial. Newton fled the scene.
Newton is charged with Theft of Scrap Metal, Criminal Trespass, Fleeing and Failure to Pay Fines. His bond is $2,855.00. He is currently being held at the Marion County Jail.
